This chapter has always been the strength of KIA, as here at KIA we believe to teach each child is classroom, rather teaching the class. We follow CBSE curriculum . We cater them as per their understanding. Different methods are used as per the learning of the child. Teaching is very interactive and best practices are been followed. We encourage all Science , Language social awareness as per the child’s interest. We use the most modern digital technology. And various activities are enriched such as filed trips, drama, debate, and group discussion. By which students enjoy learning with fun. Students learn not the content of the lesson but also develop many other skills.
Classroom:
Group learning has always a very good role in child’s life. Kids here lean together and are trained how to come in a team, how to adjust with different views. By this we guide the kids how to mingle around their peers. Kids learn and grow well. A child gets different views and option in the their classroom itself which widen their thought process. Here teachers compulsory have 5 mits for group discussion and class activity divided in the lesson plan.
Assessment – Homework
Reinforcement, Re-enrichment and Responsibility are the 3R’s of homework.
Homework is just a revision that is been taught in the school for the day. Homework is sent in various format as presentations, project work, activity based and learning base. KIA follows the HW pattern but not to stress the Parents and Students but we use this mode to convey a message what is been taught in school today and the concept are sent home for revision and activity. We always follow that HW should not be another teaching class at home rather a leaning class at home where it would help the parent to understand how attentative the child was in school and how effective the teacher was by the teacher.
Methodology-Pre-Primary
At G.D.Goenka Public School, the curriculum is structured in a manner that keeps your child in touch with the ever-changing world trends, right from the junior years to the senior level. We provide education with an objective to empower students to make decisions, to find creative solutions and plan effective action strategies.
Primary Level
A thematic approach is designed to stimulate the children through various inter-active sessions and activities. An extensive use of Smart Class and other technology aids to supplement classroom teaching. Project works in class calls for mass participation. An equal emphasis is laid on developing a strong sense of individuality. Field trips and excursions make learning fun. The use of newspaper articles, quizzes, crosswords and other learning tool enhancing general awareness is a regular feature. Lots of activity based exposure is given to open doors towards experiential learning.
Senior Level
At the senior level, the emphasis is on innovative methods of teaching. For this, the three approaches applied are: Visualization technology tools and active learning. This approach is a win for both the students as well as teachers. Knowledge is organized and connected to concepts with a goal of mastery. This leads to a transfer of knowledge and a deeper long term understanding of what is taught. A widely managed classroom technology is applied to enhance the students learning experience. Active learning through peer instruction, discussion groups and collaborative problem solving are all a vital part of the learning process. At the senior level, we have offered three academic streams and various combinations of subjects to give the best options to students. We also provide for result oriented training by subject experts who target for total development and desired success.
